A NetWork Kansas Entrepreneurship Community has made a commitment to cultivating an entrepreneurial environment by identifying and developing resources to help local entrepreneurs start or grow businesses. An E-Community has a locally-controlled loan fund to assist entrepreneurs with capital and connectivity to resources to assist entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Being an E-Community allows Stafford County to raise seed money for local entrepreneurs through donations from individuals or businesses within the community through Kansas income tax credits. The funds are then used for expanding economic activity through loans to new or existing businesses. Stafford County currently has around $101,000 in local funds available for loans to businesses.
The goal of the E-Community is to increase entrepreneurial activity. Financial assistance through loans is one part of this. E-Community designation also brings to the county connectivity to resources available to assist entrepreneurs and small businesses, and a partnership with 30 other E-Communities.
More details on the E-Community program can be found on the NetWork Kansas website.
If you are a business interested in an E-Community loan, call or stop by the Stafford County Economic Development office.
The Initial Application is the first step in understanding the business and business proposal. Upon receipt of the application, the Stafford County E-Community Team will review it in a timely manner. After this initial review, additional detailed information about your business and a follow up interview may be requested. You can expect the application process from the date an Initial Application is submitted to loan approval to be 4-6 weeks.
Applicants that are denied funding are provided a list of considerations that could be addressed to improve the prospects for approval. Revised applications may be re-submitted 30 days or more after initial presentation to the board.
