Atwood, in Rawlins County, has had success in turning around key economic development indicators, and in particular has turned around its school enrollment numbers.
Stafford EcoDevo is sponsoring a exchange trip to Atwood to hear from community and business leaders what they've done and what's working for them. We'll hear an orientation to what strategies they've used, listen to community leaders and in particular school leaders about the actions they've taken, and visit three businesses that are growing and making a positive contribution. The bus leaves Stafford County Annex at 7:15 am and will return about 8 pm on June 28. Transportation, two meals, and drinks on the bus are free, but advance registration is required.
