A $41,000 Specialty Crop Block Grant from the Kansas Department of Agriculture provided funding for 5 high tunnels and technical assistance. This project was continued through the spring and summer of 2013.
Hosted an entrepreneurship class for 5th through 9th graders at the Ida Long Goodman Library in St. John.
Stafford USD 349 was approved for a $25,000 Federal Home Loan Bank grant through the Joint Opportunities for Building Success (JOBS) that EcoDevo wrote for Entrepreneurship in Food Science. The grant paid to remodel the FACS kitchen with commercial food prep equipment that will enable commercial research and development. The JOBS program is an economic development initiative that assists members in promoting employment growth in their communities. Farmers National Bank in Stafford was the local sponsoring bank.
The second annual entrepreneurship competition took place during the Stafford County Fair at a chance for participants to win $500.

The 2nd annual photography contest was held during the Stafford County Fair for participants to win cash prizes.
Hired Hayden Welda as a summer intern. He remained on staff through December.
Testified before the Kansas Board of Pharmacy in favor of regulations that would allow retail pharmacies to operate in Kansas. The Board agreed to receive applications for rural telepharmacies through a pilot program.
Took Stafford County residents on a bus trip to Atwood to learn about how they cultivate entrepreneurship and youth engagement. Farm Bureau gave a $2,000 grant to cover these trip expenses.
