2015

December 
Helped promote the second match day for Golden Belt Community Foundation's Giving Tuesday.  The Stafford Community Improvement Fund was in the Top 20 Endowment Funds receiving $2,275 in donations.

​Took part in the Stafford Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting for The Liquor Patch on Martin in Stafford. 

Broke ground at the corner of St. Paul and Prairie Ave. in Stafford to construct a new single-family home utilizing the funds raised from the allocation of community service tax credits and the remainder of the Moderate Income Housing Grant that was not utilized for the duplex construction.

The basement walls and foundation were poured for the single-family home in Stafford.

November
Took part in the Stafford Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting for Mirror Mirror Salon on Broadway in Stafford.

Took part in the Stafford Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting for Clark's Collision Center. 

October
Awarded a $3,900 Bike & Build Grant towards construction of affordable housing in Stafford County.

September
Program Director, Ashlee Bevan continued educating St. John-Hudson USD 350 and Stafford USD 349 fourth through sixth graders about entrepreneurship.  This continued through the school year until Spring Break.

Staff attended the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Program Workshop in McPherson.  Intentions were to learn more about a possible rehabilitation pool for the hospital.

August
Renovations on the Hudson House began with the installation of new windows and siding.

July
City of St. John was awarded a $198,360 Community Development Block Grant that EcoDevo and Great Plains Development wrote on their behalf to implement nine blocks of new sidewalk along First and Monroe that supported the Healthy Communities Initiative work.

​The 3rd Annual Farm and Art Market in St. John geared up for the summer.

​The 5th annual photography contest was held at the Stafford County Fair for County residents to submit photos of what it's like to Live, Work and Play in the County.

​Ashlee Bevan and Jansyn Van Horn created the Live Well Stafford County Facebook page and Twitter account.

June
Ashlee Bevan was hired as the full-time Program Director.

Ashlee attended the "You. Lead. Now" leadership conference at the Kansas Leadership Center in Wichita through Leadership Golden Belt.

Jansyn Van Horn began a part-time internship for the summer in partnership with the Stafford County Hospital.  Jansyn created informational brochures for the Healthy Communities Initiative.

The Stafford County Healthy Communities Initiative was re-branded to Live Well Stafford County by Program Director Ashlee Bevan.

Bike & Build, a National organization that engages young adults in cycling trips to benefit affordable housing, stopped in Stafford County to help with projects - Hudson house demolition, painted bleachers at the County fairgrounds and painted the front of the Stafford Chamber of Commerce Sandifer building located in downtown Stafford.

May
Executive Director, Carolyn Dunn spent many hours walking income surveys door-to-door in the southeast section of St. John for a grant proposal.

EcoDevo worked with Great Plains Development to write a Community Development Block Grant application (funded through the Kansas Department of Commerce) on behalf of the City of St. John for sidewalk implementationt along First Street.  For the grant application, the St. John City Council passsed Resolution #769 that dedicated $8,560 in cash funds and $13,480 in force account labor for the sidewalk project located in the southeast part of town.

St. John City Council passed Resolution #770 assuring that funds would be available for continued operation and maintenance of the sidewalk project.

Income surveys were walked door-to-door in the southeast part of St. John to prove the latest Census data wrong to meet the low-income requirement for the Community Development Block Grant application. 

​The other side of the Macksville Duplex was filled with a tenant.

The Stafford County Healthy Communities Initiative sponsored a Glow Run/Walk at the St. John Jubilee.

April
The EcoDevo Board began accepting applications for a new Program Director.

EcoDevo became certified as a Community Development Entity (CDE) by the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) of the United States Department of the Treasury.  This certification means EcoDevo meets the CDE eligibility requirements set forth in the statue governing the New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) Program. 

March
Sydney Blanton, Program Director, created the staffordchamberofcommerce.com website.

February
Staff attended the LiveWell Finney County Healthy Community Design Summit to gather ideas for the Stafford County Healthy Communities Initiative work.

Received the Master Walk/Bike Plan maps that PedNet Coalition created for the Stafford County Healthy Communities Initiative.  Available for St. John and Stafford.

Stafford City Council committed $1,000 to paint sharrows along the Master Walk/Bike Plan for the City of Stafford.

January
Contacted the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City to Skype 2nd - 6th grade students that participated in Kansas Day activities at the Annex.  The Museum discussed the Plains Indians with the students.
