City of St. John• Master Walk/Bike Plan
The City of St. John approved this plan in 2014 which lays out suggested improvements to sidewalks, intersections and painting of sharrows and crosswalks for safety purposes. • Replacement and Implementation of Sidewalks along First Street and Monroe
In 2015, the City received a $198,360 Community Development Block Grant to replace and implement sidewalks along First Street. This will allow children, adults, mothers and elderly to safely walk, ride a bike, or drive a scooter to other parts of town along the busy street. City of Stafford• Master Walk/Bike Plan
The City of Stafford approved this plan in 2014 which lays out suggested improvements to sidewalks, intersections and painting of sharrows and crosswalks for safety purposes. • Sharrows
In October of 2015, City of Stafford employees created a wooden stencil of a sharrow to paint these safety signs along the Master Walk/Bike Plan suggestions around town. Sharrows remind motorists that bicyclists also use the road and should share the lane. • Preliminary Engineering for a Downtown Streetscape
In April of 2016, Live Well partnered with the Stafford Chamber of Commerce to begin discussing how we could make a positive, visual impact downtown. BG Consultants out of Hutchinson have created a preliminary engineering report for Proposed Community Facilities Improvements for the City of Stafford. This report suggests downtown improvements such as sidewalks, planter boxes, a safer 4-way intersection, lighting, shrubs, etc. This preliminary engineering report can be used to pursue grant opportunities that would help fund these types of projects if the City chooses. We ask for your support in this work as we want to see Stafford thrive in the future! Leadership Team Members:Julie Byer, Stafford County Hospital
