Stafford County Opportunity Zone

The opportunity zone encompasses the eastern half of Stafford County including the towns of Stafford and Hudson. The town of Stafford is within 30 miles of Hutchison and within an hour and fifteen minutes of Wichita’s Eisenhower International Airport. Our economy is grounded in agriculture, oil and government services, the electric rates are reasonable and high-speed internet coverage is strong throughout the county. We are at the crossroads of US-50 and 281 highways where the BNSF mainline traverses the county parallel to Highway 50. A new housing program in 2021 will significantly increase the availability of rental housing throughout the county. Within this 465 square mile zone lies the town of Stafford which boasts a strong school district and many opportunities for residential and commercial downtown redevelopment.
